Discontinuation RTX TEL - RTX Telecom Index

The members of the CEE & CIS Committee decided in the course of the regular meeting on Thursday, September 2, 2010, to discontinue the index calculation of the RTX TEL as of Monday, December 20, 2010.

Thus, the last day of the index calculation of the RTX TEL will be Friday, December 17, 2010.

Due to the ongoing merger activity in the Russian Telecom sector the number of eligible stocks in the respective index universe will decrease below a minimum level. In March 2011, after the expected completion of the restructuring process, the regional telecom companies, in which Svyazinvest holds a controlling stake will have been merged into Rostelecom. As a result, only two shares will remain on the market eligible for an index inclusion.

Furthermore in accordance with the prevailing index methodology it is not possible to select other financial instruments like global depositary receipts (GDRs) traded abroad in order to reach a sufficient number of index members. Due to that fact the index committee members had to pass the resolution to discontinue the calculation and dissemination of RTX Telecom Index by the date mentioned above.
