Calculation of Total Return Indices
The Total Return Indices of Wiener Börse AG are continuously calculated during trading hours.
The new index value is calculated by multiplying the initial value by the ratio of the current
index capitalization to the initial capitalization and the current adjustment factor. The purpose
of the adjustment factor is to compensate for changes due to index adjustments (e.g. corporate
actions).
In addition to changes in the prices of index constituents and changes in the currency exchange rates, also dividends paid out by the included companies affect the index value. A dividend payment leads to an increase in the index value and will be taken into account on the trading day the share goes ex-dividend.
